Product Overview

Guatemalan River of Life Clergy Scapular

Raw silk combines beautifully with handwoven, patterned Guatemalan cotton to create a vibrant scapular, with Silk dupioni offering rich, liturgical colors.  Handwoven cotton angles across the bib, and hand beaded cording flows down the front.

Our cotton is imported by a Fair Trade company, we are supporting the weaving tradition of the Mayan people by using their fabrics and supporting fair wages in their local economy.

This vestment is designed for priests or ordained ministers as it symbolizes the mantle or being yoked with God in service.

    Beautiful

I got the red (Pentecost) version of this scapular and I love it. The hanging beads are a nice touch. There is velcro at the top on one side to make it easier to put on. (I would prefer a different fastener, velcro gets stuck in my hair).

    Scapular

I bought four of these for the liturgical seasons. These are beautifully crafted vestments. The colors are vibrant. One thing, I am not a fan of the strings or the beads. These catch on doorknobs and chairs. They are an unnecessary addition to a beautiful vestment. I got the purple instead of the blue and it is perfect!
